A sample of soil was collected from Cedar Ridge Golf Course that is known to use the pesticide Sevin which is composed of the active ingredient carbaryl. Cedar Ridge Gold Course is located at 200 E 900 N Cedar City, UT 84720 (37.691918, -113.059078).
The soil sample is believed to be Kocuria marinadue to the 16s rDNA, morphology, and many other assays that were conducted on the bacterial culture.
Kocuria indica was also another species found to be closely related to the bacterial culture.
