ELN for ESRM

Welcome to the ESRM ELN

This is a specialized Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) for the Environmental Sampling Research Module (ESRM). This ELN is set up for storing the data concerning your soil sample. Hopefully this ELN will be easy to navigate once you learn the following key essential features.

If you have not logged in since March 2, 2024

We made several renovations to this ELN on March 2, 2024. Unfortunately we were not able to transfer the passwords during this renovation. So, in case  you have not logged in since the renovation, you will need to reset your password. This takes a few steps. First of all, click the Login button on the upper right of the screen and then the Lost your password? link beneath the login text boxes, as shown in the screenshot below.

Then you will need to enter your login name of email address in the popup dialog, as shown in the screenshot below.

After clicking the Get New Password button you should receive an email with a link that will let you set your password. If you do not receive an email within 5 minutes, then please be sure and check your SPAM folder.

How to access your soil sample

The data for your soil sample is of primary importance in your research. We have tried to make it easy to access this data by making it a part of your personal profile. Once you are signed in (see the Login button on the upper right), your personal profile is accessible by clicking the drop-down menu by your name on the upper right of the screen and then selecting the Profile menu item. Once you are on your profile page, then you can click the My Soil Samples in the profile tabs to see your soil samples. A screenshot is shown below.

How to access your instructional videos

There are some basic instructional videos that you should watch to become familiar with lab procedures and the handling of your soil sample. These instructional videos have been structured in a self-paced course format. The course The ESRM Project Basics is available from the top menu item of Help >> Basics. This is shown in the screenshot below.

How to access your school group

This site also has a group for your educational institution. You should already be a part of the appropriate group. You can see these from the top menu item of Groups. You can use this group to see and leave messages for your lab managers and faculty members for your course. If there are any specific materials for your educational institution, then they may be loaded in this group as well.
