ELN for ESRM

Module I OPH Microbial Project

Description

The soil was obtained using a shovel to expose the dirt from underneath. Bottled spring water was used to slightly dampen the soil to make it easier to obtain. This particular location was near the Brays Bayou, which contains a flow of natural water that contains many contaminants and debris within it. Additionally, the location was also home to a gasoline pipeline as the location is near a gasoline station. Gasoline is a fairly large provider of organophosphates alongside the occasional pesticide usage in order to keep these public grass areas clean. I mention public grass as this spot is also part to a trail that spans across the Brays Bayou.
